Frequently Asked Questions
How long does the treatment take?
The basic correction program takes approximately eight to twelve hours. The length of each person’s integration varies based on individual needs.
What happens during the treatment?
The first session of treatment includes an initial assessment that serves as a benchmark for evaluating future change. During this session, we assess the electro-magnetic activity in the brain using kinesiology (muscle monitoring) and acupressure. Kinesiology reveals the specific brain areas that need the most attention. At the end of the assessment we can determine the probable length of treatment required.
Subsequent sessions involve correcting specific brain areas. This is done by pinpointing stress in the brain and relieving these stress patterns. The correction technique involves very light touch on acupressure points to re-establish electro-magnetic integrity within the brain. Improved brain function enhances learning ability, creativity and physical co-ordination.
It is recommended that the client come in 6-8 weeks post-integration for a follow-up of approximately one hour.
How long do the results last?
BIT is permanent. The only situation that would require a person to need re-integration would be injury to the head, seizure, or major emotional trauma. Sometimes a client will feel loss of complete integration. In this situation, there has usually been an emotional trauma causing stress to block the brain function. We call this a temporary dis-integration. When the emotions surrounding the trauma are addressed brain function is brought back into full integration.
How close do the appointments need to be scheduled?
Sessions can be divided over several weeks or, for out-of-town patients, completed over the course of two or three days. For a child under 10 years we recommend scheduling an hour on and an hour off throughout the day. If your child is under 6 years, we schedule ½ hour appointments throughout the day.
Will the current use of medication affect BIT?
Medication does not compromise the treatment, nor does the treatment compromise medication. We are not MDs and do not make any recommendations regarding prescriptions. Please consult your medical doctor or psychiatrist with any questions.
What do I have to bring to BIT?
We recommend that our clients come well-fed and well-hydrated. Please bring water and snacks for long or multiple sessions in one day. Children may play with toys (with no batteries or electricity) and read or be read to during the treatment.
Should I plan to stay with my child during treatment?
We always welcome parents during treatment and ask that they plan to stay for at least the first hour of assessment. Sometimes children behave differently when parents are present and that might be more challenging. In this case the practitioner might suggest that the parent leave for an hour or two.
