What makes BIT different from what is currently available?
BIT works directly on the way the brain processes information. This therapy actually changes how the brain functions.
Utilizing principles of Applied Physiology, kinesiology (muscle monitoring) and acupressure, we work with the electromagnetic flow of information in the brain and re-wire the flow internally. The process addresses approximately 80 different components involved in learning.
A person with learning difficulties may have very limited communication across the corpus callosum, the part of the brain that connects the right and left hemispheres. The individual may therefore have to rely on one hemisphere for all processing of information. This can create processing delays, failure to create or retrieve memories and frustration with learning, all leading to loss of confidence and low self-esteem. Ease in academic learning is ensured when the right and left sides of the brain are able to actively communicate and process information simultaneously.
We change the brain function from the inside out, not the outside in. This involves both the pathways and the timing of sensory input to the brain. When these are corrected, brain functioning is enhanced.
In addition to the physiological functions involved in learning, we address emotional and subconscious blocks to learning as well. BIT does not use medication or ongoing physical therapy, nor does it require that changes be made to the learning environment.
